| U 198 sichtete und versenkte am 06.08.1944 die Empire City durch einen Torpedotreffer. Da U 198 auf dieser Unternehmung auch versenkt wurde (12.08.1944) liegen mir keine weiteren Informationen aus dem Kriegstagebuch vor. 2 Besatzungsmitglieder kamen ums Leben. Der Kapitän, 37 Besatzungsmitglieder und 10 Artilleristen erreichten in ihrem Rettungsboot die Küste bei Pekawi (Mosambik).
