Einer dieser Torpedos traf die ''EMPIRE DRYDEN''. Das Schiff brach auseinander. Das Vorschiff sank sofort, das Heck schwamm noch 12 Minuten ehe es versank. Der Kapitän, 22 Besatzungsmitglieder und 3 Artilleristen kamen ums Leben.
